LOUD & CLEAR
report by Darrielle Mayhead, Language Link Welfare
and Development Co-ordinator, Croydon College
on the one week LOUD & CLEAR project at the Warehouse Theatre
and the presentation of the week's work on Friday 18 February2005
:
The programme presented by the students was a credit to all involved. It was obvious that the students had gained a great deal from their week of drame tuition. They approached the performance with self-assurance and confidence. They spoke their lines with clarity and expression. Keti Jatieva came to this country as an asylum seaker with limited English only a few months ago, but she managed to compose her own script and then spoke her lines from memory. This was very impressive. Both Keti and Jesse Acquah from Croydon College thoroughly enjoyed the experience along with pupils from Haling Manor High School who had also taken part.
