Our
Wine Tastings are held at least twice a year - usually in March and October.
We have tasted Old World against New World, fine Italian wines with Enotria
Winecellars, Australian fine wines from Penfolds and with Oddbins
we have tasted Spanish & French wines by region and fine wines from Greece.
Laithwaites have also presented tastings of fine wine from around the world.
With the Australian Wine Bureau, we have also tasted Australian fine wines,
which included a generous tasting of an Eileen Hardy Shiraz 1995 (the
current vintage retails at £47.50 a bottle!).
Our tasting in October 08 looked
at the wine grapes of Bordeaux and the wine they make both in Bordeaux and in
other parts of the world. There was a raffle with some spectacular prizes including
a bottle of 2eme Grand Cru Chateau Gruaud Larose '82. March 09 we tasted rare
grape varieties from around the world and the raffle prizes included a
bottle of St Emilion Grand CruCh. La Fleur Cravignac 2000 and a cased bottle of
1987 Vintage Port). The June
09 tasting was courtesy of WINE AUSTRALIA and showed cutting-edge wines of terrific
quality with raffle prizes to match. The new Wines of Spain was the subject of
our tasting in October 09, a range of wines made from fascinating grape varieties
were tasted in March 10 and we had some stunning wines from Chile courtesy
